One of the first things I hear from expecting moms is, “I’m awkward in front of the camera.” If you’ve ever felt that way, you’re definitely not alone. As a Benton maternity photographer, I want you to know that you don’t have to know how to pose—that’s my job.
My goal isn’t to create stiff, perfectly posed images. Instead, I want your maternity photos to feel like you. The best moments happen when you’re interacting with the people you love, moving naturally, and simply enjoying this exciting season together.
Every family is different, so every maternity session should feel personal and relaxed.
Rather than focusing on perfect poses, I guide you with simple prompts that create genuine connection. You’ll never have to wonder what to do with your hands or worry about looking awkward. I’ll guide you every step of the way so your images feel effortless and authentic.

Instead of asking you to stand perfectly still, I’ll guide you through gentle movement during your session.
We may take a slow walk together. You might hold your dress as it flows in the breeze or gently rest your hands on your growing baby bump while soaking in the moment.
Those small movements create beautiful, timeless portraits that never feel forced.
Instead of worrying about posing, you can focus on enjoying this incredible season of life.

Bringing older children? There’s no need to worry about keeping them perfectly still.
In fact, I encourage the opposite.
Some of my favorite maternity photos happen when your little one walks hand in hand with you, runs toward Mom for a hug, or laughs while being lifted into the air.
We’ll play simple games, explore the location together, and let your child’s personality shine.
Authentic smiles and joyful laughter always photograph better than asking everyone to stare at the camera.

Every maternity session includes time for the entire family.
Of course, we’ll capture a few classic portraits where everyone is smiling at the camera.
Then we’ll create the moments that often become family favorites.
Dad wrapping his arms around Mom.
Your toddler kissing the baby bump.
Holding hands while walking together.
Snuggling close between laughs.
Your child cuddling in your arms while talking about becoming a big brother or big sister.
These are the moments that tell the story of your growing family. Years from now, they’ll remind you exactly how this season felt.

One of the biggest misconceptions about maternity photography is that you need to know how to pose.
You don’t.
Throughout your session, I’ll gently guide you with easy prompts instead of complicated posing instructions.
I’ll show you where to stand, where to look, and how to move naturally so every image feels relaxed and effortless.
Many of my clients leave saying their session felt more like spending time together than having professional photos taken.
That’s exactly the experience I want every family to have.

Some of my favorite photographs aren’t planned at all.
They’re the quiet moments when your partner whispers something that makes you laugh.
They’re the hugs from your toddler that happen without being prompted.
They’re the tiny hands resting on your baby bump while everyone forgets the camera is even there.
Those genuine moments become the memories you’ll treasure for years to come.
As your Benton maternity photographer, my job is to create space for those moments to unfold naturally while making sure you feel comfortable, confident, and cared for throughout your session.

If you’re expecting and looking for a Benton maternity photographer, I’d love to help you celebrate this incredible season with relaxed, natural portraits that truly reflect your family.
