Christmas is coming fast, and my studio is officially buzzing with all things merry and magical. Even though Santa minis haven’t started yet, the excitement is already in full swing. This year’s sessions sold out quicker than ever, and I’m so grateful for every family who grabbed a spot. These sessions have become such a special part of my Shreveport holiday photography season, and it means the world that so many families make them a yearly tradition.
And a big shoutout to the amazing Santa of Shreveport, who brings all the magic to my Santa minis each year — you can find him here!

Every December, my studio north of Shreveport transforms into the sweetest holiday nook, and this year’s setup is extra cozy. Picture warm lights twinkling through flocked Christmas trees, soft greenery wreaths hanging across the wall, and a calm, classic palette that feels instantly nostalgic. I always want families to walk in and feel the magic settle over them. The cozy backdrop is designed to let kids relax, smile naturally, and enjoy their time with Santa without feeling overwhelmed by busy colors or clutter. Keeping things simple makes everything feel warm and timeless.

Even though the sessions haven’t started yet, I can already picture the laughter, bright pajamas, and excited little faces. That pure childhood joy is why I look forward to Santa minis every single year. Kids come in with so much energy, and the anticipation of seeing Santa always adds a spark. Some rush right up to him, some hide behind mom’s leg for a moment, and some have a full list ready to read. Every reaction is sweet, and all of them help tell the story of who they are this Christmas.

These sessions give families something even more meaningful: a yearly marker of growth, memories, and holiday traditions. Those small changes in height, personality, and confidence show up beautifully in photos. That’s why Santa minis continue to be such a big part of my Shreveport holiday photography offerings. They’re quick, cozy, and full of heart.

Since sessions are quick, I prep the studio to feel comfortable and welcoming from the second families walk in. The lighting stays soft. The colors stay classic. And the vibe stays relaxed. This helps kids warm up to Santa naturally, which leads to those perfect in-between moments — the giggles, the shy smiles, the tiny whispered secrets. Those candid reactions often become the most treasured images.

Even though Santa minis are fully booked for the season, I’m already excited for every moment that’s coming. I can’t wait to see families return, watch kids grow, and capture the magic all over again. Every year feels new and familiar at the same time, and that combination is what makes Christmas sessions so special.

Santa minis may be sold out now, but booking for my next Santa session will be here before you know it.
